Data Entry - Banned Characters
Overview
When entering or savings clients and caregivers, you may notice some characters are banned/not allowed. Ankota has a number of error prevention warnings to ensure that fields with bad characters won’t get saved, and therefore won't get exported. In other words, these adjustments will be made to ensure your data can be successfully delivered to the state if needed.
These character bans include:
- Underscore in caregiver or client name ( _ )
- Comma, hyphen, underscore, or space in primary diagnosis code or Medicaid ID
- Primary Diagnosis Code field can only contain a code (not a name/description), to be clear
- Note you can add a new “Diagnosis Notes” field if desired for additional information
- Comma, underscore, or space in caregiver ID
- SSN will allow only 9 digits
- Note you can add leading 0s if you only wish to track the last few digits in your system
While there be no loss of data if you have old clients or caregivers that were entered prior to the introduction of these safety nets, the system will prevent you from saving new changes to the client/caregiver profile until these items are corrected.
